Let us introduce ourselves:

For 75 years, AWE Nuclear Security Technologies has been at the forefront of national security, designing, manufacturing, and commissioning the UK’s nuclear deterrent while leading efforts in nuclear threat reduction.

We are a team of over 9,000 remarkable people achieving extraordinary things, with some of the most advanced research and production facilities in the world. Whether you’re an engineer, scientist, business services professional or starting out in your career at AWE as a graduate or an apprentice, you could find your opportunity to join us and play your part.

At AWE, it’s not just a job, it’s far more than that. Our shared purpose is to help keep the nation safe.

  • Special Leave Policy including paid time off for volunteering, public service (including reserve forces) and caring.
  • You can also request full or part-time hours to fit around your family and we are open to flexible working arrangements.

What is it like to work here?

We know that creating a diverse workforce is critical to our future, and we are committed to a positive and inclusive environment. Our employee-led working groups, representing the diversity within our company, have been integral to the progression that we have made. This has been recognised through benchmarking our approach to D&I with enei, WISE and Stonewall, for example. Through our Employee Voice and Engagement Champions groups we encourage inclusivity in our approach, creating a ‘speak up’ environment where our people are listened to as well as communicated with.
